Who Are We?

The Fireclay Factory was founded in 2015 with a management team that has over 120 years experience in ceramic manufacturing.

Fine Fireclay is the only product we manufacture, which means we focus our operations entirely on this high quality method of production. Our 12,000sqm factory and 150 employees currently produce 150,000 pieces per annum, with target productions to reach 250,000 fireclay products by the end of 2020 with an additional 100 staff.

Our vertical supply chain means we produce quality Fireclay products at exceptional value ensuring we deliver profitable partnerships for all our customers.

The History of Fireclay

Fine Fireclay has traditionally been an add-on product within a Vitreous China producing factory that was largely limited to Western companies due to the sourcing of the specific raw materials. 

Although Fine Fireclay and Vitreous China are closely related there are distinct differences that are often overlooked when producing Fine Fireclay, generally processing it exactly the same as the Vitreous China product in production units specialising in Vitreous China production when in reality to produce a world class piece of Fine Fireclay there are various parts of the process that must be changed.

Having witnessed a decline in the production of Fine Fireclay products due to many Vitreous China manufacturers closing down throughout Europe, our founders set out to create the best Fine Fireclay product possible with the goal of becoming world leaders in specialising in Fine Fireclay production.

It means we select our materials based on quality, rather than price, hence the outstanding calibre of the product we supply. From the very outset we decided to only produce Fine Fireclay and set up our entire process to specialise in its production. This enables us to focus on highly technical details and produce a far higher quality of product than previously seen from a Fine Fireclay base.

Material Sourcing

Our materials are of the highest quality available to the industry, sourced through the best suppliers so we maintain the optimal balance of fully processed materials to work with, guaranteeing the perfect piece every time. 

All of our Fireclay products are manufactured and moulded within our own factory. As a business we take great pride in this as all of our Fireclay products are handcrafted by master potters. Consistency is the key to creating outstanding Fireclay ceramics. Each product is rigorously inspected and quality tested to ensure it meets our high standards.
